Abstract

If there is one thing that characterises the work of Ramón Vázquez Molezún, it is creativity, risk and emotion. His work, vital and optimistic, was innovative and absolutely personal, and the origin of all this must be sought in something as prosaic as a motorbike. Being a pensioner in Rome at the beginning of the 1950s, Molezún acquired a Lambretta C125 that he completely transformed and adapted until he took it as his own and turned it into a real house on his back and the perfect companion on his trip through Europe. A vehicle that allowed him mobility and independence that reflected his restless, vital and artistic character in formation, becoming an essential object, full of meaning, which Molezún insistently photographed together with the beautiful landscapes and buildings that he visited during the more than 100,000 km travelled on this great trip. The motorbike is revealed in Molezún as much more than a fast and cheap means of transport; it is discovered as a training ground and a transformation field for the future architect. Mind and hands united in work; symbiosis of architect and craftsman. A life journey that begins on land on a motorbike in Rome and ends on a boat, his dorna, in the sea of ​​Bueu.
