Abstract

It is 100 years since Julio Cano Lasso’s birth. The significance of his work has been addressed within the context of Spanish architecture so far. Also does his widespread influence among several generations of architects. His work’s relevance crosses over borders but has not been analysed in detail nor understood what further relates to. Within this approach, the paper covers a review of this architect’s critical fortune on the international scene. To this end, the survey encompasses the analysis of his work’s projection through foreign periodicals and the correspondence that Cano Lasso maintained with many outstanding characters of the critical sphere worldwide. In addition, it is intended to elucidate some keys that explain how his architecture aroused interest abroad since the end of the 60s. This episode reaches its peak with the beginning of the 80s when Cano Lasso would receive unceasing awards and accolades to his professional career until he passed away.
