Our relationship with the teaching of Architecture in India, between 2009 and 2014, has borne several actions: partaking in the III Euro/Indian Summit; the setting up of the “Discovering Ahmedabad” Exhibition; Annals of Reinvention, the intervention in the Ahmedabad Heritage Week; the “Residence hall for students and professors of the Master’s Degree Project in Ahmedabad” proposal and lastly, the European EuropeAid Program “Cultural Heritage and Management Venture Lab” in Ahmedabad, India. In all of them, we were aware of the fact that speaking of Heritage, Restoration and Preservation is to consider the meaning and the representation of Time. While in the West, time is linked to movement (a succession of different befores and afters), in the East, time blends in with the flow of nature. That is, a reflection on time as a project tool from two points of view which we consider complementary, or in more orthodox terms, from a disciplinary view of conciliation of opposites: the East versus the West.
