Abstract

An old house is recovered with precise operations that preserve the original volume and the external appearance that carries the affective memory of the place. Inside, white homogenizes the previous construction as opposed to the concrete that has been left exposed in the new elements. The massive masonry wall contrasts with the diaphanous concrete frames. The cylindrical staircase, whose finish on the upper floor sculpturally assembles the kitchen counter, connects the floors that were previously independent and organizes them. The excavation opens the lower enclosures and relates the street to the interior of the estate. The result remains open to what happens after the photographs.
